Right after the crash he was carried off to a hospital. First news says Darcy Ward has broken spinal cord. CT scan in hospital revealed cervical dislocation. Few hours after crash Darcy Ward is undergoing surgery on a spinal injury that has left him with no lower body feeling at this time.

Except for neck injury its been said he has broke forearm in two places and have some knee problem.

Darcy Ward cameback in a fantastic style after nearly 1-year ban. He was leader of his clubs in Poland, Sweden and England. In Speedway Ekstraliga he averaged 2.24 points per heat, 14.00 points per match with 67.65% efficiency.

According to Radio Zielona Góra Darcy Ward regained consciousness while still under the influence of drugs. During surgery his life was in danger but according to club chairman Robert Dowhan doctors managed that and all the vital functions have been restored and stabilized. Still waiting for some official statement.

Doctors said that Darcy Ward had an 2.5 hour operation on his spine. He is stable, breathing on his own, conscious and has full recognition of his surroundings. Dr. Robert Zapotoczny is unable at this early stage to provide a definitive prognosis of his full condition. Thats all for now. More about his health condition on Wednesday. Wish him all the best. According to Forkrent Racing Team there are new informations suggesting that Darcy Ward will be transported to Austria, to a specialist clinic for treating this type of injury.

Darcy Ward will be within few days transported to the clinic in UK, 3 minutes from his house. His health condition is better than on Monday, as doesn’t need as much drugs as on Monday. The most important right now is his psychic condition, so earlier informations about moving him to Austria are ruled out for the moment. More accurate prognosis will be known in a month or two. His family has requested privacy on full extent of his injuries. Watch whole press conference from today.

Darcy Ward won the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Australian Under-21 Championships as well as the 2009 and 2010 World Under-21 Championships. In 2013 he was 8th in Speedway Grand Prix series.
